Drew is the Internal Communication Manager for the world’s leading augmented reality developer, DAQRI, where he leads and establishes an internal corporate communications strategy that empowers DAQRI employees with valuable information, allowing them to make decisions to achieve personal and company goals. Drew is a global education evangelist and rising star in the world of educational technology and motivational speaking. He is also the Co-Founder of the internationally popular education blog Two Guys and Some iPads and AR Detroit; a local augmented reality meetup. Minock’s award-winning blog www.twoguysandsomeipads.com has quickly become popular worldwide, reaching 700,000 visits from around the world to date! Drew has also co-launched the iTunes News and Noteworthy education podcast “The Two Guys Show” to inspire educators to reach new heights.

Drew also serves as an International Education Evangelist and Keynote Speaker for Best-Keynote.com, the first-rate coalition of speakers and consultants fully dedicated to moving the world of education to positive, new directions. Drew has held several roles since joining DAQRI in 2014, spanning from 4D Education Evangelist to Education Program Manager for the communications team. He continues to help educate the public about augmented reality and involve the world in DAQRI’s mission “redefine what is humanly possible.”

Augmented Reality: Engaging a Minecraft Generation
Why will kids sit for hours immersed in a Minecraft world, but have trouble staying engaged during class? As a group, we will discuss how new augmented reality (AR) tools give educators and students the power to: create meaningful learning experiences that combine the digital and physical worlds, build interactive experiences to show and share knowledge with a global audience, understand complex concepts, and retain information longer. Together will we address how we can take existing curriculums, and enhance them to appeal to the Minecraft Generation.

Preparing Students for Jobs That Don’t Exist Yet
New technologies will change the kinds of jobs people have in the coming years. 65 percent of today’s schoolchildren will eventually be employed in jobs that have yet to be created, according to a report by the U.S. Department of Labor. That raises important questions: Are we preparing students for job that don’t exist yet? To solve problems that don’t exist yet? These are just a couple of the questions we will explore during this thought provoking session.

Design Thinking: A Framework for Innovation
Design Thinking attempts to inspire the essential element of creativity, the ability to take an abstract idea and create something with it. This approach has created a new way for educators and students to solve problems, express themselves with creativity, and build new things. During this session, we will explore the exciting process of design thinking and how it can be used in education as a framework for innovation.

Future of Storytelling
According to research, Storytelling predates writing, with the earliest forms of storytelling usually oral combined with gestures and expressions. We encounter different forms of storytelling in everything we do, including education. It is an art we often take for granted. This session will focus on bringing this incredible form of communication into the digital age. We will discuss how we can allow students to show their comprehension while exploring the best web tools and apps for the future of storytelling.

We will be presenting game changing apps for student engagement, teacher productivity, and augmented reality. This session will focus on bringing learning to life in your classroom using augmented reality(AR). We will focus on meaningful ways to integrate augmented reality in your classroom, school, and community, as well as the best AR education apps currently available We will also discuss the process of creating AR using the DAQRI’s powerful cloud-hosted, 4D Studio. Inspire Innovation by Fostering Collaboration and Creativity
True innovation happens when collaboration and creativity are given the opportunity to run wild!  Finding many different solutions to the same problem creates outside the box thinking. Using technology to with this approach breeds innovation. During this session we will tackle an abundance of web tools, applications, and devices to get students working as a team to reach new heights.
